Dr. Steffens inserts an 'implant' which is a titanium post beneath your gum. The post fuses with the bone in your jaw and acts as a root for the replacement tooth.
Dr. Steffens then mounts the replacement tooth on the post, where it blends in with the look and feel of your natural teeth. Implants require surgery and patients need to be in good health and must have healthy gums. The patient must also have adequate bone to support the implants or be a good candidate for surgery to build up the area where the implant is needed.
